July 9th- "Due Date"! 40 Weeks!

Hightlights of my week include:

We went to our first Sporting KC game Wednesday night for free!  Rachel got free tickets and shared with us.  The stadium was awesome, the game was awesome.  Although I was not totally impressed with the ball skills of the players, but Jeff says this is because I am comparing it to World Cup games.  I think I could get into this.  I really enjoyed watching the game!  Soccer is my favorite sport to play and apparently the only sport to watch that can hold my short attention span.  It's a perfect amount of time, two 45 min. halves and continual action.  Plus every seat in that place has a great view of the field.  Much easier for me to focus on than baseball.

I ate the most AMAZING peaches!  I LOVE peaches, more than any other fruit in the world.  I think it's one of the best things the Lord ever created.  I bought some delicious peaches from the City Market today and already ate three.  I can never find good ones at the grocery store, they are always gross, so it's such a treat when they are in season.  I wait all year for this.  :)

Jeff and I took the puppies on lots of walks.  We even walked up to the Plaza Starbucks and tried to sit outside and read, but Ozark is like a shark and couldn't stop moving and it was driving Jeff crazy.  Our other big walk was up to the Nelson.  It was quite interesting.  While we were walking I sneezed hard and peed on myself!  I had been warned that this could happen towards the end (and after) pregnancy but it had yet to be a problem.  It shot out so hard that a little trickle ran down my leg and I stopped and looked down and started cracking up.  Jeff saw it and exclaimed "What just happened?!  Did your water break?!"  It was really hilarious. But then I really had to go to the bathroom, luckily porter-potties were still set up from "Shakespeare in the Park" so I was able to use those.  Embarrassing, but mostly just funny.  (Kind of like the other time when I went to use the restroom in the Nelson and accidentally went into the men's restroom and didn't realize it until I was already in the stall.  Luckily no one saw me or I would have been mortified.  I blame it on baby brain and baby on my bladder.)

Okay, so today is July 9th- my "Due Date"!!  It's a weird waiting period but Quinn will come when she is ready.  :)  It's crazy to think that we will probably have a baby this time next week.  Exciting!  But I still need to finish packing a hospital bag . . .

  1. I'm eagerly following your blog & Melissa's waiting to see whether Quinn or Micah will make their big entrance first :-). I'm praying for a super smooth and low-stress birth experience for both of you!

I'm glad you got to go to an SKC game. I went to first game in the new stadium and was so impressed with the view and the experience. SKC isn't always the most impressive team, but they have heart, and their supporters are very loyal (and loud). I've enjoyed following their progress for about a year so far, and hope to get to KC for more games soon.

Have you been watching the Women's World Cup? The U.S. will be playing France in the semifinals on Wednesday. They beat Brazil on Sunday, and Germany has been eliminated, so I think they have a real chance to win it all :-)
