What's new at 11 months and Summer!

11 months:
You are keeping me very busy so I hardly have time to write about all the new things you are doing and post all your fun pictures.  You are VERY active, which is fun and I love, but it can also be exhausting.  You love to get into everything and climb on everything.  :)

Here's what is new:

You are now a pro at waving goodbye.  You'll wave to anyone and you are still very friendly to strangers.  You are now using some baby signs, which is SOOOOO cool!  You sign "more" and "all done", we are working on "book" and "nurse" and "cup".  You actually use "more" for a lot of things, like if you are hungry and I sign "eat" you sign back "more".  I LOVE to see how you can communicate with us, you are so smart.  :)  I know that babies are amazing and can understand and communicate more than we give them credit for BUT it still amazes me.

This week you started walking with your little car walker.  You LOVE it and can even navigate around corners.  Last week you were holding onto the hamper and walking around it, pulling the towels out.  So funny!  You start clapping whenever you hear someone say "yay".  A couple weeks ago I hosted Canasta at our house and whenever one of the ladies would say "yay" about their cards, even in a regular voice and not talking to you, you would start clapping.
 

You have been imitating Mommy and Daddy and the noises we make with our mouths or faces we make.  Our new routine when Daddy comes home is to hold you between us and hug and then Mommy and Daddy give each other a kiss and then you give us each a kiss.
 
You still love water, which makes the hot summer days lots of fun.  I am glad we both like being outside by the pool!  You've enjoyed some pool days this week with your friend Caleb.

We have also done a lot of summer traveling to Springfield and St. Louis but are glad to be back home in KC and back on our normal sleep schedule, which has been better lately.  A good night is when you sleep from 8:30pm to about 5am when I nurse you and then you go back to sleep for a couple more hours.  Sometimes you still wake up about 3 or 4am and I have to tell you to go back to sleep.
