Lullabies

Baby girl,
I wanted to let you know that your father is upstairs playing and singing "God of Wonders" on his guitar.  I turned the TV off so we could listen to him down here.  He is a wonderful man and already loves you so much.  I can't wait for him to sing you lullabies when you go to sleep.

Which reminds me that for years I have been thinking of how I would sing Bing Crosby's lullaby from "White Christmas" to you.

When I'm worried and I can't sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep
And I fall asleep counting my blessings
When my bankroll is getting small
I think of when I had none at all
And I fall asleep counting my blessings

I think about a nursery and I picture curly heads
And one by one I count them as they slumber in their beds
If you're worried and you can't sleep
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
And you'll fall asleep counting your blessings
